Not wanting to use favoritism as I do love all essential oils but I was recently asked which essential oils would rate in my top 10 so here they are and a brief explanation why:
- Rose for being the epitome of exquisiteness.
- Neroli for it’s hauntingly feminine aroma.
- Jasmine because it is so delicate and slightly exotic.
- Angelica for it’s balancing and revitalizing properties.
- Chamomile for it’s gentleness and extremely calming abilities.
- Lemongrass for it’s vivid and tangy aroma.
- Ylang Ylang for it’s sensuousness.
- Lavender because it is so versatile.
- Rosemary for it’s amazing ability to clear your head.
- Basil for it’s lovely uplifting qualities.
It really is very difficult to narrow down my top 10 essential oils and I could easily list them all for their wonderful, unique properties.
Please share your favorites in the comments section below!

Hey those are most of my favorites too. I like to make a room spray body mist with Tangerine, Rosewood, and Ylang Ylang.
Neroli is so wonderful for bedtime.
Now I can’t wait to get home and use some!

Love your post! I love essential oils, and have started getting into to using them this past year. I’ve only used a couple for making things like toothpaste, and perfume oil. You’ve listed some of my favorites, especially Neroli, Jasmine, lavender, and lemongrass.
#31DBBB visiting. Great job on your post – love your site and am definitely subscribing to it! Peace. π

I’m visiting from the 31DBBB too.
I really like palmarosa. Though maybe it’s a blend.
Good list post!

Hi Kristin, Palmarosa is not a blend, it’s distilled from a wild grass found in India. Yet another gorgeous essential oil!
