Welcome to Aromatherapy Essential Oil Recipes

Here are a couple of my old tried and tested lavender recipes. Not a winter goes by without me making a bottle of tonic to keep handy for the whole family.

Winter tonic

  • 200 grams fresh lavender heads
  • 1/2 cup brandy

Place the lavender heads in a large bowls then add the brandy. Cover this with plastic wrap then leave to sit for 1 month.

After 1 month, strain the liquid into a bottle. Use 2-3 drops of this every day adding to a cup of herbal tea. Do this for 2 weeks at a time then have a break of 2 weeks. This can be taken during the winter months and is a fabulous winter tonic.

You can also use this mixture as a gargle for sore throats. Add 5 drops to a glass of water and gargle 3 times a day.

Digestive Cleanse

This formula is excellent for cleaning the digestive system.

  • 50 grams fresh lavender heads
  • 1 liter spring or mineral water

Bring the water to the boil, add the lavender heads. Return to the boil then cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

Drink 2-3 cups in between meals.
