These recipes for Facial Clay Masks are especially good for oily skins, however depending on which color clay you use all skin types can benefit. I prefer using the French clays as these are high in mineral content. These minerals are great for the skin to cleanse, detoxify, exfoliate, heal, sooth, and tone.
As mentioned the different color clays available are beneficial for different types of skins as each one has it’s unique healing properties.
Green clay helps to draw toxins from the skin and can calm inflammations. It is particularly good for acne.
White clay soothes and softens the skin and is suitable for all skin types. This is the gentlest of all the clays.
Red clay is suitable for dry and sensitive skins.
Pink clay is particularly useful for toning dull, tired, or devitalized skin. It also has excellent cleansing properties.
Bentonite clay, Kaolin clay, and Fuller’s Earth are also suitable for using in face masks. The latter being excellent for oily and acne prone skin conditions.
