Many people are affected by acne, however this is normally more common in teenagers. The reason being an increased production of hormones in adolescents (estrogen in females and androgen in males). These hormones stimulate the sebaceous glands which produces too much sebum. Whiteheads and blackheads are formed due to clogged pores from this excess sebum which then become inflamed, causing acne.
This easy to make acne treatment will help mild and moderate acne conditions. The antiseptic properties of Lavender and Tea Tree will help fight any skin inflammation and bacterial infection. Geranium helps to balance the sebum and aids in repairing damaged tissue. Jojoba is the most suitable base oil to use as its chemical structure resembles our skin’s own sebum. It acts as an emulsifier freeing any embedded grime by gently unclogging the pores.
